THE INDIAN COMBAT SOLDIER FEARS NONE BUT THE APATHY OF IT'S OWN NATION
The cars were BMW, Mercs, the costliest in the market; zooming in for valet parking, bringing in the neo rich, for Lunch, at the 5 star hotel.
Yes me and my wife were the odd one, gone in to enjoy our day out at the 5 Star Hotel.
The couple on the adjacent table, were flagrantly demonstrating their existence as member of the Rich Fraternity Club, except they Lacked Culture and Sophistication. They were the Mushrooming, New Brand of Rich Youngsters, called Software Engineers of Bangalore. Horribly Dressed, in Bermuda shorts, Stupidly Captioned T Shirts and Bathroom Slippers.
They ordered everything English, which they attempted to eat with knife and fork, a sight out of the funniest circus in town. Holding the hotels designers cutlery in hand as surgical instruments, they gripped the knife and fork in hand in a awkward posture, akin to milking a cow or a buffalo. They continuously attempted to Punch the well garnished non vegetarian preparation on the plate, most of the time missing the morsel hold by the fork; an impression, to the on lookers, that they were killing something on the plate, which probably the chef had forgotten to cook.
Whatever accidentally got caught up in their fork, was taken in their wide open mouth, in the same manner, as one takes grapes, held high above the head. The presentation was ditto in many other tables.
They are the new rich young Indians, unconcerned, unaware of a tall man, standing outside the main entrance, the door through which they had just entered; a man who was impressive and appeared powerful in military mustaches reminiscent of his earlier good days; he was possibly the best attired handsome and smart man in the entire hotel; but unfortunately, here he was humbly opening the glass door for each one of these educated but uncultured youths.
At closer look, the massive man, reminded , of his great days in the Indian Army, a brave soldier, having the experience of fighting the enemy of the Nation, without a second thought of possible danger or peril to his own life and to his family at home. He was then confident, that the Nation will take care of both; and therefore he continued during his Army service to protect the country selflessly, thus ensuring, that these rich of the country are able to enjoy their affluence in peace and their families prosper.
Today he is treated,to be a obedient dog. His self esteem is cremated every day, on the tooth pick wood thrown by these rich. His pride has been buried under the same door mat where he stands.
Shame on this Nation, if it cannot look after it's soldiers. Shame on the Society, the Youth, and the Nations Affluent, for neglecting the Indian Combat Soldiers. The thankless Nation has already built a War Memorial, burying the Indian Combat Soldiers and His Families Pride, at the Door Step of these Unscrupulous Indian Rich, the same people who shiver, if the Indian Combat Soldier, is not in sight, when they find themselves in crisis. The Brave Indian Combat Soldier is surviving to keep his head from falling, falling from shame, because of Poor Pay, Perks and His and His Families Secure Present and Future
This is based on a true incident, as occurred and and observed by me and my wife. My wife Vanita Dubey rightly comments, "The only Appetite of a Soldier is his Pride and Dignity, and the Belief that the Society and the Country will Bestow, the same Honor, Till, He and His Wife Survives. No War Memorial is Worth a Penny, if these Two Aspects are Missing from His Life".
