Forty-seven days after it left Earth, Chandrayaan-2 Lander "Vikram" will decide on the exact landing spot on Moon when it would be 100m above the lunar surface between "1.30am and 2.30am tonight, Saturday early morning". If all goes well, it'll touch down 78 seconds later.
ISRO had chosen a primary landing site and a secondary one, Vikram will approach the primary landing site, which has two "Landing Zones". "Vikram will be selecting One, out of these two "Landing Zones" at the primary site after analyzing data at that moment".
Chandrayaan-2's preferred landing site is between two craters, Manzinus and Simpelius, about 350km north of Moon's south pole, "This Site is Darkest, The Most Difficult and Never Attempted for Fear of Failure" by the Americans, Russians and the Chinese, the only three countries who have landed on the Moon till date.
At a height of 100m, Vikram will hover for a few seconds before the final descent. "Within each landing site, two zones are identified of size 500m x 500m, separated by 1.6km. The prime target will be the first zone landing.
A successful Soft-Landing would make India the fourth country after the US, Russia and China to successfully land on the Moon. Only 37% of all Moon landing attempts have been successful, till date. "Congratulations" India and Extreme thanks to PM Shri Modiji, if tonight history is created by India's "Mission Chandrayaan 2" by Soft Landing on the Darkest Spot and the Most Difficult Spot 350 km North near South Pole of the Moon. This unprecedented risk by the Indian's, to land at such a dangerous spot is possible availability of River/Water in that area.
Ladies and Gentlemen of India and Indian's wherever you are, don't forget to tune into your TV at 1.30am onward, to view the historic landing of India's "Mission Chandrayaan-2" on the surface of the Moon tonight.
